WagLife is a dog lifestyle and discovery service operated by Love for Locals. References to “WagLife,” “we,” “us,” or “our” in this Policy refer to the operator of the WagLife application and related services.

The information collected depends on the features you use and the permissions you grant. WagLife may collect the following categories of information:

Account and contact information

• Name, email address, account identifier, and sign-in information.
• Support messages and information you provide when contacting us.

Dog profile information

• Dog name, photo, breed, size, age, activity level, temperament, preferences, and related profile details.
• Saved preferences used to personalize recommendations and experiences.

Location information

• Approximate or precise device location when you grant location permission.
• Search areas, map positions, selected destinations, and location-based interactions.

App activity and content

• Searches, viewed places, saved places, favorites, recommendations, and feature interactions.
• Photos, reviews, reports, share cards, or other content you choose to create or submit.

Device, diagnostics, and analytics information

• Device type, operating system, app version, language, and general technical information.
• Crash reports, performance data, diagnostics, and aggregated usage analytics.

Purchase information

• Subscription status, product entitlement, transaction identifier, and purchase confirmation.
• Payment card information is processed by Apple or another authorized payment provider and is not received directly by WagLife.

3. How Information Is Collected

Information may be collected:

• Directly from you when you create a profile, save a place, upload content, or contact support.
• Automatically through app operation, diagnostics, analytics, and device permissions.
• From Apple and other service providers that support subscriptions, maps, place information, weather, analytics, or app functionality.
• From public or licensed place-data sources used to provide dog-friendly discovery information.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

• Provide, maintain, secure, and improve WagLife.
• Create and manage your account and dog profile.
• Personalize parks, patios, trails, events, activities, and other recommendations.
• Provide nearby results, distance estimates, maps, and location-aware features.
• Operate Park IQ, saved places, sharing, notifications, and other app features.
• Process and verify subscription access and purchases.
• Respond to support, privacy, safety, and data-correction requests.
• Detect fraud, abuse, security threats, technical problems, or violations of our Terms.
• Understand app performance and improve the user experience.
• Comply with legal obligations and protect users, the public, and our rights.

5. Location Information

Location access is optional and controlled through your device settings. When enabled, WagLife may use your location to provide nearby recommendations, distance estimates, map positioning, local events, Park IQ, and related features.

You may disable location access at any time through iOS Settings. Some nearby and map-based features may not work correctly without location access.

6. Photos, Camera, and User Content

WagLife may request access to your camera or photo library when you choose to add a dog profile photo, create a share card, submit a report, or use another photo-based feature. We access only the content you select or create through the app.

Content you share publicly or send to another person may be viewed, copied, or reshared by others. Use care when including personal information in photos or posts.

7. Notifications

With your permission, WagLife may send notifications about saved places, recommendations, reminders, account activity, Park IQ updates, or app features. You can change notification permissions at any time through your device settings.

8. How Information May Be Shared

We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Vendors that help provide hosting, mapping, place data, analytics, diagnostics, communications, subscription processing, security, and customer support.
• At your direction: When you share a place, link, photo, recommendation, or share card with another person or platform.
• Legal and safety reasons: When reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our Terms, prevent fraud, respond to lawful requests, or protect users and the public.
• Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate privacy protections.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with unaffiliated third parties for their own direct marketing without your consent.

9. Third-Party Services

WagLife may integrate services provided by Apple, mapping providers, place-data providers, analytics providers, weather providers, social-sharing platforms, and other technology vendors. Those providers may process information under their own privacy policies.

We require service providers handling personal information on our behalf to use it only for authorized purposes and to apply appropriate safeguards.

10. Tracking and Advertising

WagLife does not use personal information to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies unless we first obtain any consent required by Apple and applicable law.

If our advertising or tracking practices change, we will update this Policy, update the App Store privacy disclosures, and request permission when required.

11. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and support legitimate business purposes.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, whether your account remains active, and applicable legal or operational requirements. Information may remain temporarily in secure backups after deletion.

12. Your Privacy Choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Request access to personal information associated with you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal information.
• Withdraw consent or change device permissions.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.

13. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your WagLife account and associated personal information by emailing loveforlocals@gmail.com with “WagLife Account Deletion” in the subject line.

We may retain limited information when required for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcement of our agreements.

14. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

15. Children’s Privacy

WagLife is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

16. International Users

Information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live.
